Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico
A Very Special Feria+ Experience
The Casa de las Flores B&B is pleased to offer you 3 special programs that will answer your many questions about the Folk Art Potters and their work in both Tlaquepaque and Tonalá and the types of pottery for which they are justifiably famous.
These three special programs will be available during November, from the 7th to the 14th and from the 18th to the 27th of this year 2013. So be sure to email or call us soon to be a part of these enjoyable programs and the hospitality of the Casa de Las Flores.
There are 3 separate programs available for the dates shown above. Now is the time to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity while here for Feria Maestros del Arte.
Casa de las Flores B&B is near two of the most important Folk Art areas for pottery in Mexico, Tlaquepaque and Tonalá - just 50 minutes from Lake Chapala. You have probably visited these two communities and wandered their streets, visited the local craft shops, admired the local pottery and perhaps enjoyed a meal. And the chances are you have never visited an actual workshop, to see these renowned artisans making these fine works of art that are in collections all over the world.
Conveniently located close to the center of Tlaquepaque is the Casa de Las Flores B&B, a veritable treasure-house of local pottery. Every one of their seven lovely rooms display fine local pottery as does every available space throughout the B&B.
The owners, Stanley Singleton and José Gutiérrez, are very knowledgeable about the pieces in their personal collection as well as the outstanding pieces they have for sale. Many of the best artisans in the two communities are their friends. Who better than Stan and José to arrange your tour?
You can enjoy a fascinating in-house tour with Stan most mornings at Casa de las Flores, as he guides you through their collection. His knowledge and obvious love of folk art, especially pottery, and his respect for the artisans who make it all possible, will together make this in-house tour a very enjoyable experience - and don't be reluctant to ask questions.
Tours to meet with potters in the area are best during the week when they are at work and their children are in school. If there are two of you or more, Stan's in-house tour is easy to arrange. For an intimate tour visiting artist's workshops, 4 to 6 people is a comfortable number. The workshop tours can be tailor-made to meet your special interests.
Whether you stay at Casa de las Flores for one night or longer, visiting the workshops, meeting and talking with the artisans is a very satisfying experience; but it can also be very tiring! When you return to the B&B, put your feet up, perhaps sit by a fire on cool evenings or enjoy the lovely gardens. Stan and José are great hosts. And by the way, Stan makes a great hot breakfast that you will be talking about long after your stay is over.
To contact Stan and José about their Feria Maestros del Arte specials visit their website at www.casadelasflores.com/index.php and then email or give them a call. Mention Feria Maestros del Arte and they will donate a percentage to the Feria.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU TO A VERY SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY - and to staying with us at any time throughout the year. We know our area, and that includes Guadalajara. We can help make your visit one to remember.
Stan and José
P.S. Guided tours are also available any time of the year.
